Some four months ago I happened to hear of moringa for the first time whilst listening to the radio. Being a natural, you can imagine how much more my interest was piqued when all I heard was some really good stuff about it. Seriously… I. Just. Had. To. Get. It. Two months later – don’t judge, student budget is real – I finally purchased moringa and have been using it as the main ingredient in my spritz for the past three months.
To give some insight, moringa is a tropical tree found in the Indian subcontinent. It is known for its extensive range of nutrients and Ayurvedic properties and can be found in stores in either a powder form, dried leaf form, oil or as a capsule. It can also be added to meals for that extra punch of nutrients. I decided to purchase the dried leaf variety and after steeping it in boiled water for 5-10 minutes I let it cool before pouring it into my spritz bottle and adding my oils and leave-in conditioner, aside from my spritz I also drink it as a tea…BUT that’s probably not what you’re interested in. So what’s so great about this moringa??? Well, below I’ve listed some of its hair benefits:
Stimulates blood circulationHelps stimulate hair growthIncreases the strength and thickness of the hairRepairs damaged hair folliclesNourishes the hairAssists in reducing split ends and dandruff
These are just its hair benefits; its health benefits are many and range from being high in vitamin A, calcium, magnesium, potassium, zinc and iron, assisting with high cholesterol and blood sugar levels as well as improving conditions such as anaemia, diabetes, heart problems and asthma to name a few. With all these benefits, there’s no questioning that moringa is pretty much an all-round natural product to add to your hair regimen and diet…I know I haven’t regretted it one bit.
